What do you all think about talking to Blackwell again about setting up templates for our Requests? I've just made several mistakes (that were stupid, silly ones -- like forgetting to add the 2009 after my fund codes) on my request forms.
It would make life a lot easier. Paul is out sick right now...What would you like in a template if we do this?

I wrote to Carol Hausauer yesterday. She wrote back:
Hi, Merrie. The templates will definitely be coming in the new version of Collection Manager (CM7) in a few months. I’ve seen the feature demonstrated and it’s slick. Relief is on its way. In fact, your university is going to be involved in the Beta testing for CM7. I just spoke with the Product Manager for CM and the information about Beta is going out to the participating libraries in the next few days. I don’t know how much you all will be involved at this point but perhaps Paul will be able to show you the template feature.
Thanks so much for asking. Best regards,
Carol Carol Hausauer, MLS Blackwell New Titles Account Coordinator

With Ben Walker's permission, I have attached the tentative recommendations for the Statewide Storage Facility. Please feel free to comment on them. You can find the attachment at the bottom of the page.
Thanks!
Merrie

I agree with John and Matt that 2 monograph copies is problematic; I think that there should be some check against OCLC for copies, as well as some selector discretion involved. Two copies of something with 30 holding libraries in the region--possibly yes; only two copies with one other holding library in the country or world--possibly no.

Let's get a selector for Criminology. Should we advertise? Or a bake sale for the salary? Or criminal activity?

Is this how we should arrange the Selector Responsibilities by DDC?

As stated on the page, Cathy Martyniak and Matt Loving organized arranged selectors by their DDC areas. Is this arranged in a way that is helpful to you? Or would you like to see it organized differently?
Please feel free to make adjustments you feel are warrented. Major adjustments (changes) should probably be discussed here first. Any adjustments should be marked by highlighting the cell in an obvious color.

How should we use this wiki?
By: ,
Jul 28 2008, 9:45 AM EDT
I was going to start this as a new thread, but I realized that it was what Matt had started on Friday about UNC's CM page. Well, except UNC's CM page is more public than our wiki will probably be. Our policy could be hosted here and linked to from the our public page, too.
But what other things should or shouldn't be on our wiki? We're planning this as an agenda item for our next meeting, but I thought we might discuss it.

Has anyone gone logged-in to the new Blackwell module and fished around to have an opinion of the new systems verses GOBI ? Would be great to get some feed-back, opinions, tricks, suggestions.
